The history of Tenute Girolamo is not just a story of winemaking successes, but a tale that spans generations, steeped in passion for the land and wine.
It is the story of Michele Girolamo, a man who in 2001, leaving behind the frenzy of Milan, decides to return to his hometown, driven by his love for great wines.

It is here that he begins to bring his dream to life, contacting one of the best winemakers of the time to start an ambitious project: the birth of Tenute Girolamo.
With him, he brings his family and young Piero, his seventeen-year-old son, who is introduced to the fascinating world of viticulture. In the vineyards surrounding their new home, Piero discovers a universe rich in aromas and colors, where every bunch of grapes tells stories of toil and dedication. Michele, with his entrepreneurial spirit, buys other lands, thus giving concrete form to the estate.

In 2006, after years of work and investment, Tenute Girolamo took shape, promising a bright future.
In the years that followed, Piero grew and trained in the world of wine, collaborating with prestigious oenologists, thus expanding his knowledge and refining his passion. In 2010, Michele made a fundamental gesture: he returned to Milan, leaving the responsibility of the company in Piero’s hands. While on the one hand this represented an act of trust, on the other it was also a challenge that Piero welcomed with enthusiasm.

His goal was clear: to innovate and carry on his father’s legacy, also thanks to the implementation of modern technologies. Today, Tenute Girolamo extends over 40 hectares of vineyards planted between 2004 and 2005 in the splendid Valle D’Itria. The company had the ambition to raise the qualitative profile of Apulian wines, embracing a philosophy based on quality rather than quantity. A pioneering approach for the time, which saw the inclusion not only of traditional Apulian vines such as Primitivo, Negroamaro, Aglianico and Verdeca, but also international varieties such as Cabernet Sauvignon, Cabernet Franc, Petit Verdot, Syrah and Merlot. This fusion represents the company’s desire to produce exclusive wines and give prestige to its territory.
